Illinois label Polyvinyl Records has been putting out records since 1995. Most well known for the massive popularity of bands like Braid, Rainer Maria, and Mates Of State, the label has worked with groups as diverse as the power-pop of the Red Hot Valentines to the subdued musings of Mike Kinsella [via American Football and Owen] and the quirky keyboard-rock of Volcano, I'm Still Excited!!.
The label also had a short-lived CD single series in the late nineties, releasing material from bands such as Burning Airlines, Paris Texas, and Sean Tillmann [of Calvin Krime/Sean Na Na/Har Mar Superstar fame]. Most recently, Polyvinyl has started a mailorder-only series with releases from Saturday Looks Good To Me, Aloha, and Pele/Toe. Artists with releases on this label:
