Alright. Let's just get everything out of our systems. Yes, Blake Sennet, Rilo's guitarist, was on "Salute Your Shorts." Yes, Jenny Lewis' side project is the Postal Service with Ben Gibbard. Yes, Jenny is a cute redhead. And yes, Jenny did kiss Fred Savage in the movie "The Wizard." Instead of thinking of such things upon hearing the name Rilo Kiley, one should think soley of their best release to date, The Execution Of All Things. Please login or register to post comments. all of the best moments on this album are when jenny says "fuck" Chinatown youre obviously a winner, the comma was optional. Dummm-ass-fuking-tard. ohh, good call. You can whittle it down more of you really wanted to. Jenny was in Big Girls Don't Cry...They Get Even with Ben Savage yeah i watched a lot of tv in the 90s and yes i do remember the episode of boy meets world that fred savage guess starred in. i was just talking about it not that long ago really. so yes, i guess i do have a lot of free time too. "To the guy who talked about the connection through the Savages. How the hell did you know all of that? You must have alot of spare time. " "This score is for Salute Your Shorts" "This score is for Salute Your Shorts" Oh my god Chinatown I missed a comma. Sorry oh great professor of english. When is your book getting published? I can't wait to pick up a copy. Mass Comm represent, bitches. "does ianyone else find it strange that... This score is for Salute Your Shorts Most English majors are "hipster doofus"-types, to steal from Seinfeld reference; I'd like to think I'm a rare exception. I've also noticed a lot of people who listen to punk are history majors too. Whatever. I'm a punk majoring in English. I've noticed a large percentage of the punk kids are history majors though; for whatever reason. You know what I like? Spelling, capitalization and punctuation but I guess real punks don't take the time to use those. too mcuh time silly, come on i'm punk not a fucking english major You know what I like? Spelling, capitalization and punctuation but I guess real punks don't take the time to use those. i like you guys, you are funny. i don't actually hate atreyu and have no real opinion of bright eyes one way or the other. they did a great cover of devil town by daniel johnston. i just like messing with little kids like you guys who cry if anyone attacks a band you like. rilo kiley just doesn't seem good to me in any way shape or form. the whole concept of punknews at this point in time is just retarded, the only real punk bands are long since gone, with most of them having half the members in the ground (the stooges, mc5, ramonesm new york dolls, etc..). whatever though, i'm done with my posting on this. this has almost been as fun as the kid who cried because i siad that the useen wasn't a punk band. so you can keep crying because not everyone likes rilo kiley, though i'll say that i don't know many people who don't like jenny's work with the postal service though that is neither here nor there, and i'll keep laughing at you if you hit a baseball you run to first, not from third. chicks can't play baseball. "if you like this, you like whatever you are told to like, and probably think bright eyes is fucking brilliant. its not. these guys were nice when i had to work one of thier shows, i just don't see how anyone thinks they are amazing. plus, pretty pop music isn't really punk. its about as punk as atreyu or any of those shit metal bands" That is the worst album they have put out to date. Rilo Kiley is my guilty pleasure. I only have the new cd, copied from my friend, though. Owned if you like this, you like whatever you are told to like, and probably think bright eyes is fucking brilliant. its not. these guys were nice when i had to work one of thier shows, i just don't see how anyone thinks they are amazing. plus, pretty pop music isn't really punk. its about as punk as atreyu or any of those shit metal bands not to be an asshole but if you like this, you like whatever you are told to like, and probably think bright eyes is fucking brilliant. its not. these guys were nice when i had to work one of thier shows, i just don't see how anyone thinks they are amazing. plus, pretty pop music isn't really punk. its about as punk as atreyu or any of those shit metal bands One of my all time favorite cd's. Nice review Sally. Actually this is better than 99% of the shit out there. I know you can't grab your dick and finger your little sister's friends while they sleep over to your house to it, but it's a really good album. too bad thier "best release to date" is still worse than 99% of the shit out there Hell, even the way Jenny Lewis frequents the word "fuck" is beautiful I kept hearing good things about RK so I listened to one of their albums at the store. It seemed pleasant but pointless, which SHOULD be the antithesis of all things punk. I guess it would make good "quiet time" music for more conservative dinner parties and possible make out sessions, but otherwise.... *anyone like this album. score is for the wizard. dont like this album much, but that one song ('take off and landings?') where shes all pissed off is good. Don't agree that she's "cute". Do agree that it's a good album. can't stand this band |
