Saw them last night with Thrice. The music is alright but the girl's voice is AMAZING and she is really hot. I would do wonderful things to her.

Scotts just jealous he aint hittin that.

This just in: fuck your drama.
I've never really got into this band... Girl has a nice voice, but just couldn't reach me in the same way Denali's music did.

So let me get this straight...........she really is your girlfriend, Brian? Sw-izeet! This album is good, but no 10 by any means. And yeah, they are pretty good live.

This is a very enjoyable album, but I question giving it a five-star mark.

Colin made a fine argument below, which I've gladly cut-and-pasted for your viewing pleasure:

i think the reviewer just really likes the band, and either hasn't heard enough music to realize it's fairly generic, or has and just doesn't want to admit it.

And instead of maybe opening up a dialogue about this, Brian -- your boyfriend -- jumped down Colin's throat, turning what was a valid criticism of your review into an insult to Colin's musical intelligence.

It's just shitty, is all. Just as musicians shouldn't make music if they can't take criticism, writers shouldn't write if they can't take criticism, either.

And honestly, there is no way this record is anywhere near perfect or classic or groundbreaking (which are three words I equate with a five-star review frequently).

By the way, I was the "anonymous" person who first left the comment about taking criticism; I dunno why I masked myself, but I'm taking responsibility for it now.

This record sounded like a girl singing the first Sunny Day Real Estate album, rather blandly. I was not too into it.

Supposedly, they're better live; I might be seeing them tonight with mewithoutYou and Dredg, so I guess I'll find out.

I thought "Kelly" was "Kirby" cause those are the kind of posts he makes. And I was like "Well that's nice of him I guess..." and then my eyes adjusted.

Colin: Someone could use the same argument for yourself and say you haven't heard enough new wave not to realize how the Network is simply a Devo rehashing. But that's just my opinion, just like Sally enjoys this to the fullest extent.

Yeah, these guys are touring with Thrice this fall and I think Thrice took them out a few months ago. I think its a rad mix.

This cd is really good. I don't know about a ten but maybe an 8?

Holy Roman Empire is great too but Veda just blows them away vocally.

If you want to hear the best singing you'll hear on an indie album in 2005 I suggest you buy this.

I hope someone can help me out here. Isn't this the same band that opened for a handful of shows THRICE did around California back in April (of 2005)? I caught the end of their set but couldn't remember the bands name and I thought it may have been VEDA. Thanks.

i will give them this, whoever is singing can fucking sing. but the music is sorely cliche.
